I was at an event one day setting up my display, when a friend mentioned how I really liked blues and purples! I looked at her a bit puzzled and turned back to setting up only to realise how right she was. Everything on display was made in predominantly blue or purple.
Madame Butterfly was born out of a need to create using colours I didn't normally use in my work. It was challenging and one of the most difficult pieces to work on. In fact she had to spend a year sulking in the cupboard before I could finish her off.
But she served her purpose and now my work is a range of colours. I still love blue and purple but it no longer dominates what I create.
